So... Does anyone have a cure for a serious case of book hangover?  Let me know... It has been DAYS since I finished reading this crazy book and I just can't seem to let it go.  I already told Ella that I love her work but that I was skeptical about how much I would enjoy this book.  To come completely clean, I probably would have passed this book by without some serious persuasion or a really good sale.

Hear me now. 

YOU NEED TO BUY THIS BOOK

Ella took everything I thought this book would be and turned it on its head.  I loved the characters, the mystery, and the dynamic that this taboo subject of teacher/student relationships can have when seen from another point of view.

From experiences my friends have had, I know that this type of thing happens.  Although the men are usually much younger in age and closer to the age of the girl, I still struggle as someone who has worked with youth for over 10 years to come to grips with why ANY ADULT would be alright with this type of relationship.  I know that there might be some differences of opinion on this but no matter how much I tried to hate Addison and her teacher, I just couldn't get there.  

All that aside, this is really a love story.  You will learn how Addison got to this place in her life and why she has been through more in her 18 years than some have in their entire lives.  This book was a solid 5 stars for me.  I'm really hoping that there are other books down the road out of these amazing characters she has created...

To be completely honest, if I had to choose, paranormal isn't at the top of my list of favorite genres.  It might be somewhere after Motorcycle and before Captive but I have this thing for David, so...  If you can recall from my previous post on the release blitz posting,  I was one of the lucky few that got to beta read this book.  I don't know what it was about this story but I felt like these characters, while being supernatural, felt so real to me.  Maybe it was because a majority of the things that happened to these destined souls could have happened to anyone living in a gang filled city or the foster system.  Those gritty and earthly experiences made all the supernatural things that happened in this book all the more realistic.

I have this thing for dreads...  Some of my best friends have had them for years and they just do it for me.    The second I read about Makkar I was done.  David broke me.  He was the perfect blend of sexy and smart and has a thing for Sarah. I mean, how could you NOT love him?  Although he isn't the main character in this battle between good and evil, I found myself wanting to hear more about him.   David knows I like my smut.  He is adding some really hot scenes for book 3, Saved, which should hopefully come out by the end of May and from the snippets he has shared (swoon!!) I can tell you that it will rock your world.

I think it's safe to say that I have a lady boner for Lola Stark.  This chick can write!  So, when Kayla asked if I had time to read/review I was like 'fuck yeah!'  There is a disclaimer in the beginning of the book that she is going in a completely different direction with the series but the fact that this is a Cowboy book should tell her fans that this is going to be a new frontier.  What I wasn't prepared for was how much I'd love him!  I'm a Mace girl.  Always loved that hot, tatted Alpha from her Tattered Love series but Destry pulls at your heart until you have no choice but to take notice!

Amelia has had it.  Between her family and her fiance she has been pushed to the brink and needs to get the hell out dodge.  What she doesn't realize is that she is running right to a sexy brooding cowboy who may be just what the doctor ordered to soothe her pain.

I LOVED THIS BOOK.  Lola may have changed some of the way she was writing her story but no matter what, the girl can write some steamy sex scenes! Her humor and sense of adventure can't be hidden no matter what direction she tries to take her writing.

This has some conflict and crazy characters that you will fall in love with and a surprise at the end but overall the story is that of letting your walls down and taking people for who they are.  It's a tricky balance that Lola seems to master in this new series.  I can't wait to see which character is the focus of the next book in this series.  Maybe Braxton? Austin?  Ellie?  The wait is going to kill me!!
