Kayla the Bibliophile Blog Tour Stop: Qwen Salsbury's The Plan

Let’s start with a little foreplay…

What would you say is the most embarrassing thing you have done or had done to you?
Wow. You don’t pull any punches, do you? lol
Okay, the single most embarrassing thing I’ve ever done centers on something I did when working for a movie theater my freshman year of college. It is so embarrassing because it is so, so very stupid. I know better than this. Anyone knows better than this. I failed to get my very polyester (think band uniform) pants dry. After driving to work with them hanging half out the window, they were still damp. I did relish the idea of wearing them like that for hours, so my sleep-deprived brain thought it was a great idea to throw them in the concession stand microwave.
I know. I know. I knew better. The zip sparked and a section of the pants became a molten, tar-like mess that stunk up the entire theater. So pungent, popcorn sales plummeted that day.
When I realized what I’d done, I was so embarrassed my knees went out from under me in the middle of the lobby.

Craziest Fan moment?
Me being a fan? I nearly hyperventilated sitting in the front row at a fan convention one time. I plead the fifth for what might happen if I ever meet the boys from Supernatural.

Pick one!

Favorite book and/or author?
The Outsiders by SE Hinton

Import or Muscle car?
Muscle. Think 67 Mustang, Impala, etc

Favorite song and/or musician?
Barely Breathing by Duncan Shiek holds a special place in my heart

White, Dark or Milk Chocolate?
Milk

Sam or Dean Winchester?
Both!
Actually, I think Dean is one of the most interesting characters in television history.
But, I’d climb Sam like a mountain.

Commando, Boxers or Briefs?
Briefs

Damon or Stephan Salvatore?
Damon. (But, I’d take Alaric Saltzman over either brother)

Wine or Mixed drink?
Usually mixed.

Coke or Pepsi?
COKE

Biker boy or Rocker dude?
Biker

Do you believe in vampires?
Alas, no

If you could have a super power what power would you pick?
The ability to heal others

What would you do with your super power if you had it?
Heal others. Not heal assholes.

Would you abuse your super power? How?
See above. I’m not that benevolent.

Enough foreplay, let’s get it on!

Tell us about your 1st time!
It was to “Comfortably Numb”
If that doesn’t tell you enough, he cried afterward because it was about 15 seconds long.

Screamer, moaner or silent?
Talker

Whips or chains?
Dip

What is your favorite alcoholic beverage?
Amaretto sour

Do you ever leave home without panties on?
Yup

Have you ever had sex while at work (any job)? If so, where?
Nope

What is the strangest place you ever had sex?
Elevator in a shopping mall

What turns you on more, reading a sexual story, watching a porn or listening to sex?
Hearing

What profession do you find the most arousing sexually?
Chef

Does size matter?
Duh

If you were on a bus and got a glimpse up a pantiless girl’s skirt would you keep looking?
Like a car wreck, for sure

What is the strangest sexual experience you’ve had?
I was making out in a car with a guy I’d dated a few times. He whipped it out for the first time and it hit the steering wheel. I said some version of “hell no” and that was that. So, I’m not sure if it was strange because he was gigantic or because I practically ran in terror.

Funniest sexual experience you've ever had?
Perhaps the one above.

Most embarrassing sexual experience?
The footboard of my bed fell off while mid-foreplay with the hottest guy I ever landed.

Dominant or Submissive?
I’m one but I’d prefer to be the other

A fantasy you haven't fulfilled yet?
Hammock sex

Your stand on sex toys?
Some are fun, some are pointless

Siiiigh, that was fantastic…how about some pillow talk?

What would you do if you could be a guy for a day?
Write my name in the snow

How would you describe yourself so that someone could pick you out?
The hottest chubby chick in the area

What's the last thought in your head that involved someone you like?
If you mean a friend, then it is that I screwed up the dedication in The Plan and left off someone who really and truly deserved to be there. I feel like real jerk.

What is a question you want me to ask you?
Borrowing from this list, I love to hear embarrassing sex stories.

What is a question you refuse to answer?
Um, maybe something that would compromise my kids’ safety. Other than that, I’m an open book. I think.

Any tats or piercings? If so, where?
Just my ears, the standard double piercing.

Biggest turn on?
A man who can really dance

Biggest turn off?
A man who only thinks he can dance.

Pet peeve?
Asking me what I want to do and then not doing it.
Also, dishes sitting in the sink.

So tell us something nobody knows about you?
Nobody? I guess that I have the tv on if I’m alone just because being someplace silent tends to freak me out.

What did you think while reading these questions?
That I write far more interesting sex than I have actually had. And that Sam Winchester needs to change that. Oh, and that this is probably littered with typos that I will not catch even after multiple proof readings. I am notorious for typos. My facebook posts are like word jumble puzzles.

Thank you for answering my naughty questions. Was it as good for you as it was for me?
lol

Did you have anything else you’d like to say before we go?
Thank you for the grilling!

Sassy Sara's Review of The Plan by Qwen Salsbury

Emma Baker is infatuated with her boss, Alaric Cannon.
He has no idea that she exists because he is too busy firing his assistants to have time for such things. That's okay though, because she has a plan.

I love the way this book is written.  In parts it seems like it could be a screenplay manuscript because there is so much attention to detail, and at other times, you feel like you are reading Emma's most secret desires that are locked safely in her diary.  The characters were wonderful  You felt the torment and anguish that Emma was going through while trying to hide her true feelings for a man that as an employee, she has come to fear.  The attraction is there from the beginning, but it's that on-the-edge-of-your-seat 'will they or won't they' anxiousness that keeps you from being able to put this book down.

I started reading this (despite warnings from Kayla) at 9PM at night and was so ensnared with the drama of this book that I didn't get to sleep until after 1AM and after a few hours, went to work where I continued to read at every opportunity.  The story had a great flow and I really hope that there is more to this series, and soon!!

About the Author
Qwen Salsbury was born in Kansas and somehow keeps ending up back there.  Raised on her grandparent’s five acre homestead within the city limits, her imagination was honed during long days of quiet play and spartan access to a TV signal.  Now mother to handsome boys, she strives to ensure they appreciate potential adventures found within the pages of a book, an honest day’s work, and what ingenuity may yield from mundane objects like a string and a cup.  The boys prefer a PS3.
After spending time in corporate America, she returned to school and received a BA in English, Creative Writing and Poetry from Pittsburg State University, the alma mater of Pulitzer Prize winning poet, James Tate.  She worked on a Masters there until going on to receive a juris doctorate from Washburn School of Law.
A seven-time Sigma Tau Delta writing award winner, her fiction and poetry have appeared in literary magazines and have been selected by fiction communities as featured story of the month and year.  Predominantly a writer of romance, her romantic fiction varies from contemporary to historical to fantasy, though often with a humorous slant and poetic undertones.
For reasons she can’t even articulate herself, she decided to start writing fiction again while solo parenting and attending law school (during Constitutional Law class, to be exact.).
