Paige Weaver Edition: Dare to Tell the Truth with Kayla the Bibliophile

Paige Weaver Edition
Let’s start with a little foreplay…

What would you say is the most embarrassing thing you have done or had done to you?

I’m pretty quiet and laid back so not many embarrassing things have happened to me. Probably all the times I’ve fallen flat on my face in the middle or in front of a crowd. Very embarrassing.

Craziest Fan moment?

~ Oh, I’ve had a few so it’s hard to pick just one. I guess the craziest fan moment for me had nothing to do with one of my fans. It happened at a signing. My husband was with me, sitting beside me at my table like he sometimes does. An older woman (I’m guessing in her sixties) stopped at my table and asked what my books were about. I told her the genre – dystopian new adult – and started to delve into the details of the books but she stopped me. “Does your story have any BDSM in it?” she asked, getting straight to the point. I paused a second, surprised, but went on to say no there was no BDSM but there were detailed sex scenes. She interrupted me again. “I can’t read it, honey, unless it has BDSM in it. That’s my rule.” At the same time she proceeded to pull a rope out of her pocket slowly, wrapping it around her hand again and again while saying, “Because there’s nothing like being tied up and f**ked hard.” Now remember that my husband was sitting beside me, someone who was already overwhelmed with all the estrogen in the room. I had to see his reaction to this. I glanced over at him and I’ll never forget the look on his face. His eyes were rounded and he had gone pale. But the woman wasn’t finished yet. She focused on my husband and pulled the rope tight between her hands, snapping it. “You should have written a scene where the hero ties up the heroine in a barn with some really rough rope because everyone likes to be tied up. Right?” she asked, looking at my husband. At that point I thought he would pass out. He was speechless. And very white. Needless to say, she didn’t buy one of my books. But she did give my husband his first introduction to crazy fans.

 Pick one!

Favorite book and/or author?

That’s a really hard question since I’ve been reading romance novels for 27 years. I love very dark books. The darker, the better. The more angst, the more I can’t get enough of it. The author that introduced me to that is Anne Stuart, who published most of her books in the 80s and 90s. She wrote the ultimate, badass alpha males that were extremely dark…they were not for the faint of heart. She was writing those types of characters before they became so popular. Anything she wrote (and continues to write) is amazing.

Import or Muscle car?

Definitely muscle. There is something dangerous about muscle cars that makes me sit up and take notice. Maybe it’s the deep rumbling of the engine or maybe it’s the badass attitude projected by the cars …whatever it is, I think it’s a major turn-on.

Favorite song and/or musician?

I listen to some hardcore music when I write, but I’m usually all over the board. Eminem is my fav followed closely by Thirty Seconds to Mars (I have a slight crush on Jared, the lead singer). I also love dubstep (thanks to having a teenager son). deadmau5 and Skrillex are probably my favorites for that. And because I have a young daughter, Taylor Swift is one of my favorites now too. (Yes, I said Taylor Swift.) Others I like are Mumford and Sons, Blue October, Macklemore, The Neighborhood, Johnny Cash…I could go on and on.

White, Dark or Milk Chocolate?

Definitely dark chocolate

Sam or Dean Winchester?

I don’t watch that show because I’m a big chicken, but if I’m going on looks…why can’t I have both?

Commando, Boxers or Briefs?

Boxer briefs.

Damon or Stephan Salvatore?

For a long time I was Damon all the way. He had the whole bad boy thing going on that I loved. And those eyes! *fainting now* But when him and Elena got together, I started to lose interest. Yes, once a guy turns sweet, I’m outta there. It’s a bad habit of mine I’m hoping my daughter doesn’t inherit.

Wine or Mixed drink?

Mixed drink. Give me the hard stuff mixed with something sweet. Kind of like the books I write and prefer to read.

Coke or Pepsi?

I’m from the South so definitely Coke. It just seems natural. Nobody asks for a soda around here; you ask for a Coke (even if you’re talking about a Pepsi or Dr. Pepper.) So I guess since that’s all I heard growing up, that’s what I prefer.

Biker boy or Rocker dude?

Rocker. But I would much rather have an assassin turn good or an undercover cop or a billionaire with a dark side. The rocker has to have a good story to get me interested, not just someone that thinks he rules the world because he can strum a guitar or sing a song.

Do you believe in vampires?

I just got back from New Orleans, a place seeped deep with vampires beliefs. I believe there are individuals that consider themselves vampires, either because they drink human blood or they feed off human energy (which I learned in New Orleans is one form of vampirism). But I’m sad to report that while hanging out on Bourbon Street I didn’t see anyone sparkling in the sunlight.

If you could have a super power what power would you pick?

Invisibility

What would you do with your super power if you had it?

I would spy on people to get ideas for books and study different personalities. They would never know I was there. Also I would disappear so I could find the time to write more.

Would you abuse your super power? How?

Oh, sure! If I were invisible, I would play tricks on my family members. Maybe move things so it looks like an object is moving by itself or make scary ghost noises. Turn the lights on and off or suddenly become visible when the person thought they were alone. In my family we are always trying to sneak up on each other and scare one another. Being invisible would help me win that competition.

Enough foreplay, let’s get it on!

Tell us about your 1st time!

On the back of a galloping horse. It was hot. The saddle was rough beneath me. My hair was flying in the wind. The man was shouting my name… Oh, wait! That’s from one of those bodice-ripper books I used to read back in the 80s. First time for me? (Is my mom reading this? Gawd, I hope not.) It was prom. Meh.

Screamer, moaner or silent?

The neighbors would say screamer. (Sorry, Mr. and Mrs. Johnson. I’ll quiet it down.)

Whips or chains?

Chains

What is your favorite alcoholic beverage?

I have two – Strawberry Margarita and a Colorado Bull Dog. Bloody Mary’s are also becoming one of my favs.

Do you ever leave home without panties on?

Hmmm, yes. But don’t tell anyone.

Have you ever had sex while at work (any job)? If so, where?

No way. Most of the places I’ve worked, sex was the last thing on my mind. I did work at a hospital where the nurses slept around and the doctors were manwhores. But I didn’t partake.

What is the strangest place you ever had sex?

In a car. In a truck. In a bathroom during a party.

What turns you on more, reading a sexual story, watching a porn or listening to sex?

Reading. Porns just make me laugh.

What profession do you find the most arousing sexually?

Military.

Does size matter?

Absolutely. Thick and long is a must.

Do you or have you ever had a “cop” fantasy?

No but I admit the handcuffs might make me wake up and take notice.

Do you or have you ever had a “Delivery Guy” or “Service Man” fantasy?

No unless you count dreaming about a guy that brings me whatever I want to eat every night and serves me margaritas and White Russians all night while I sit around in yoga pants and ratty t-shirts and watch romantic movies….while he massages my feet.

If you were on a bus and got a glimpse up a pantiless girl’s skirt would you keep looking?

No. Ewww. Just no.

What is the strangest sexual experience you’ve had?

I don’t think I’ve had any strange sexual experience. I’m a good girl. (Be quiet, bff.)

Funniest sexual experience you've ever had?

All the times I’ve tried to have sex in tiny spaces. It just isn’t romantic and very unsexy when your legs are shaking or you get muscle cramps because you don’t have enough room to move. I end up giggling which ruins the mood.

Most embarrassing sexual experience?

Almost getting caught by family members. I’m sure it was obvious what we were doing…

Dominant or Submissive?

Submissive

A fantasy you haven't fulfilled yet?

Sex on public transportation. (Oh, wait. It’s a long flight to Edinburgh. Hmmm.)

Your stand on sex toys?

I don’t normally stand on BOB (Battery operated boyfriend). That’s just mean. He’s extra special to me and I wouldn’t want to damage his delicate rubber (or glass or plastic) long body. Oh, wait. You mean what do I think of them! Yes, I believe sex toys are a must. Sorry, my blondeness is slipping through.

Siiiigh, that was fantastic…how about some pillow talk?

What would you do if you could be a guy for a day?

Probably masturbate all the time. I mean it’s hanging there. What else do you do with it besides pee standing up?

How would you describe yourself so that someone could pick you out?

Quiet. Reserved. Blondish hair (sometimes). Usually wears heels (that cause me to fall – see prior answer.)

What's the last thought in your head that involved someone you like?

This woman is downright amazing (about my 89-year-old grandmother).

What is a question you want me to ask you?

Haha. You’ve asked more intimate questions than any interview I’ve ever done so I think we’re good.

What is a question you refuse to answer?

I’ll answer almost anything because even though I’m reserved, I’m very open and truthful.

Any tats or piercings? If so, where?

Nope. I almost got a tattoo a few times but chickened out, does that count?

Biggest turn on?

Scruffy beards and a guy that is funny.

Biggest turn off?

A guy that spends more time on his looks than most women.

Pet peeve?

Know-it-alls

So tell us something nobody knows about you?

Many people don’t know that while in college, I was a backup dancer on a TV show.

What did you think while reading these questions?

I thought they were fun and it was a great way to get to know the real people behind the books.

Thank you for answering my naughty questions. Was it as good for you as it was for me?

Better. Thank you!

Did you have anything else you’d like to say before we go?

Just that thank you for having me and I can’t wait to meet everyone in Edinburgh.
