Laura Cooper's 7 Deadly Sins Series Part 1: Lust

I have discovered the absolute most pleasurable torture.... Serials. No not the killer kind...although sometimes when they end on a crazy cliffhanger I feel like killing someone...namely the author...but I won't because I just GOTTA know what happens next!!! Yes, I'm talking about the thing some authors are doing now where they release a "part", "short story", or "chapter" one by one and then eventually release it into a full length novel. My first experience with this was the "Dominated by the Billionaire" series by Sara Fawkes...hot. But I came into that series when she was already 5 books in so I didn't have to sit through the torture of each being released one by one...then came Red Phoenix... <3 Again, though, I came in when she was already finishing up the first full length novel version and I've been steadily having to wait for each "After Graduation" part to release before she releases it in September. Now here's the kicker...my first REAL experience of finding a serial from Part 1, falling head over heels for it, and now having to wait for each part to release. That series is Laura Cooper's 7 Deadly Sins Series...

This review is for Part 1: Lust
Here's the blurb, which INSTANTLY made me want to put it at the head of my TBR list:

Didn't I tell you?! And this isn't one of those books where you get all excited over the synopsis of the book and then you're like "Well, it was a good IDEA, but then it fell short." Oh HELL no... this is just part 1 and I'm already completely in love with this series! The story is even better than what the description hints at!From the second Liz meets Carlton in the elevator...YOU are drooling and tingling all over. You feel what Liz is feeling, the nerves, the excitement...her reaction to him is EXACTLY what I would have had. Have you ever come across a man that is just so blindingly gorgeous that you lose all sense of yourself and have no idea what a bumbling idiot you must look like as you just stare at him because you can't figure out if he's actually real? (gasp for air after that sentence...) Yea...thats Carlton. And! (cue the trumpets) Voila...we have our 1st Deadly Sin...LUST.
Thank GOODNESS she's releasing these books every Wednesday (much quicker than most serials are released) because I don't know what I would do with myself if I had to find out what will happen next between these two. Plus I absolutely adore her brother. You'll just have to read it in order to see why I'm so excited over this series!!

Dakota Cassidy Edition: Dare to Tell the Truth with Kayla the Bibliophile

Let me just say that I am SO ecstatic and honored to have one of my favorite...not only author's...but PEOPLE in the entire world do my Dare to Tell the Truth interview!! There is not a single day that goes by that this woman doesn't make me laugh my butt off. If I'm having a bad day, all I've gotta do is check her fb status and I'm instantly better. What would you say is the most embarrassing thing you have done or had done to you?
Lord, I remember it distinctly. I yelled out randomly, like some drunk, “I love you, Mr. Manilow!” at a Barry Manilow concert. And I was 40 at the time. Don’t judge.

 Craziest Fan moment?
Has to be when a fan heard me laugh (my voice is sort of deep and husky. So to be fair, it’s identifiable) in a bathroom stall and asked me to sign a napkin she’d handed under to me.

Also, I seem to evoke a lot of crying. I can’t say why that is, but sometimes people cry. I always have tissues. I don’t want anyone to cry. You won’t cry if we ever meet, will you?

 Favorite book and or author?
 Favorite book is The Stand. Can’t choose a favorite author because I love so many, but Stephen King is surely high on my list.

Varick: The Reckoning by Red Phoenix

As ya'll know by now, I'm completely obsessed with Red Phoenix's Brie Series. I was all caught up with it and was needing my Red fix so I started looking into her other books. I started out this blogging journey as a hardcore paranormal romance fanatic so when I saw she had a vampire book I knew I had to read it! Plus, I did a vampire photoshoot with the uber talented Sarah Grusenmeyer and needed a book to review to release along with the awesome shot we got! So here goes:

Varick is a darker read as far as my regular paranormals go. I normally like super humorous supernatural books, but this one was intriguing because of the internal struggle of our leading fellow. He was forced into being a "monster" as he calls himself, but fights the urges and tries to stay as good as possible. He learns how to stay alive while hurting as few people as possible. Then he meets Aleshia. She conjures feelings inside him that he has never felt before. After striking a deal with her, the book sends you on a rollercoaster of twists and turns: in the plot and your emotions. The story has it all: love, sorrow, revenge, good vs. evil, plus there is NO WAY you can guess the ending. I love how you have no idea if its going to end in an HEA or not, not until the very last pages. For a while there, I had no idea if this book was even a love story. But the tale itself is such an adventure that it doesn't matter if its a Romance or not. Its a steamy read, you fall for the sexy vampire who wills himself to stay good, and you can't help but get giddy when he exacts his vengeance.

For a quick, sexy, paranormal read that will give you an adrenaline rush and a strong sense of satisfaction at the end, I DEFINITELY recommend Varick by Red Phoenix!

Review: Irresistible Desire & Inescapable Desire by Danielle Jamie

Do you believe in fate?

I personally do.

I think fate played a big part not only in the books I'm reviewing,
but in REAL LIFE and how I got my hands on them.

A first time author with maybe 100 likes on facebook messaged a new blogger a few months ago asking if she would mind reviewing her book she was working on. After reading the synopsis, the blogger freaks out because it is set in a town she knows all about, right down the road in Galveston, TX. The author lives in New York and is delighted to find out that the blogger is willing to help her with places and facts about Galveston and the surrounding area so she can make the book as real as possible! And so starts the friendship of Author Danielle Jamie and Kayla the Bibliophile, and later includes Blogger Miranda of Mommy's A Book Whore.
And together we are: "The Three Fucksateers!!" haha ok. Anyways.

Now, I mentioned that fate plays a part in the books too.

Savannah has the perfect life. She has a gorgeous boyfriend of 4 years, her dream job, a bestie like no other, and lives the good life in LA, California thanks to her parents who are the world famous country singing duo. (I always picture an older Faith Hill and Tim McGraw.) She is helping her boss do all the interviews for the magazine's article of the Most Influential Man 2012. One of my favorite scenes out of both books is when Kayden Knox walks into the room and she spots him for the first time. Her reaction is priceless and a definite LOL moment! But she is taken and so ignores the chemistry that is so obvious between them. I don't want to give anything away, so I'll skip to the part where she moves to her parents' beach house in Galveston, TX with a broken heart.  Guess what? Kayden Knox lives in Houston and has a beach house 45 minutes away in Galveston!!!

Book 1, Irresistible Desire, sets the story all up: from getting to know the characters, to Logan's betrayal, and then finally a blossoming whirlwind romance between our fated lovers. Book 2, Inescapable Desire picks up right where Book 1 leaves off. So you don't miss a single second of the steamy love scenes happening ALL OVER the Greater Houston Area hahahaha! One word: Closet. Just....trust me. There have been some who say that Book 2 is just about sex. Yes there is a ton of love scenes in this book. But that is exactly what they are. LOVE scenes. Savannah and Kayden's love grows quickly between them because they please each other better and on a deeper level than anyone before. They go on many different adventures in this book and get to know each other without having sex too, but they really see how perfect they are together through their love making and pillow talk.

WARNING: This book ends in a HUGE cliffhanger!!! You will NEVER see it coming! Also, Irresistible Desire was Danielle Jamie's very first book, and it was wonderful. She wrote characters that you fall in love with, and a biggy for me: you want to be the main chick's best friend. But Inescapable Desire truly displays the talent that this stay at home mom of 3 has inside her. Its like the first story gave her confidence and she proved to herself that she could do it, and then she went balls to the wall with her second! Completely dying for book 3!!!
OH! And btw: that author with only 100 likes on facebook? How about she was number 1 in the UK during the week Inescapable Desire released. BAM!!

Kayden’s hoarse voice meets my ears “You…feel so fucking amazing.” Running his, hands into my hair pulling my mouth back down to meet his. He kisses me as if he needs it as much as he needs air to breath.

We collapse onto the bed, our chests rising and falling rapidly as our bodies try to recover from the mind-blowing orgasms we just experienced together. “My entire body is numb!”

Rolling onto his side, Kayden leaned on his elbow. Gazing down at me with his gorgeous green eyes, He affectionately brushes the loose strands of hair off my face. “I would risk my dick falling off, to hear you say that multiple times a day,” he said laughing and trailing a path of hot kisses along my arm. “You are most certainly, the sexiest woman I have ever laid eyes on.
