His Scottish Pet: Dom of the Ages
**WARNING** This first story in the series introduces you to Ryce and Chrisselle, and the unique love story they share. The series will follow the immortal Dom, Ryce Leon, through the many loves and lives that shape him into the Master Chrisselle comes to know and love in His Scottish Pet.
Red Phoenix has done it again. First, Brie…my soul-sister
in a fictional character. Then, Varick, the unwilling vampire who gets the
perfect revenge. And now, Master Leon… oh, Master…
Description:
In the 1400’s Ryce Leon moves to Scotland to escape
the horrors of his past. The lusty Englishman is content to wear kilts and
share his unique talents with the satisfied lasses of Rannoch. However, fate
brings a forsaken young waif into his life, Chrisselle Buchanan. What begins as
a simple pairing of Master and pet evolves into something powerful, with the
potential to free Ryce from his unbearable curse.
Extended Description:
Ryce Leon is a Master of exceptional experience, introducing the women of Rannoch to his rare skills. Unbeknownst to them, he hides a tragic secret - one that forces him to move from place to place, never putting down roots for fear of discovery. He has learned the terrible price of love and will not suffer such loss again. When the dying Chrisselle is thrust upon him, he is determined to rid himself of her as soon as she recovers. However, the Scottish waif’s brave spirit and curious nature eventually break down his defenses. It is clear that fate has brought them together, but Ryce knows from experience that fate can be a cruel mistress.

At first, I’m
not positive that I LIKED Ryce…but I think Red did this on purpose. He’s not an
affectionate Dom like we fell in love with in her Brie books. I knew eventually
I would like him though, because we get a hint of his caring nature when we
find out that he pleasures the women of the town known as the outcasts, the
women who are not considered marriage material whether they be widows, past the
marrying age, etc… And when Chrisselle is forced on him, he’s not the nicest
guy to her either. But she slowly grows on him, and when he finally lets her
in, we see an entirely new side of Master Leon that wasn’t present with the
other ladies in the beginning of the story. Chrisselle’s Ryce is who the reader
will end up falling for.
Besides our main
characters, there are a couple of endearing supporting characters. Avril, the “Naughty
Seamstress”, is a wonderful woman who is an outcast because of the scars on her
face. And my favorite, Eventide, Ryce’s horse, who takes the place of a best
friend in this story, provides some wonderful comedic relief.
Just
to reiterate the warning, Ryce is an immortal. This series will follow him
throughout the centuries.
Exclusive Note from
the Author:
“With each story, more of his past
will be unraveled. Readers will come to understand what happened to him and how
he became who he is. At first, Ryce thought he had been given a gift, but with
time, he realizes immortality is a terrible burden.”
So
for a quick, hot, exciting, intense, and sexy read, try out book 1 in Red’s Dom
of the Ages series: His Scottish Pet.
Thanks so much, Kayla! Eventide is one of my favorite characters too. I used to have a horse like him, named Babe. An animal with the soul of a human. :)
