Red Phoenix's The Big Push Blog Tour Stop: Kayla the Bibliophile

Picture
Make sure to put
KAYLA THE BIBLIOPHILE
in the space for who told you about the giveaway!!!

This adorably romantic picture of Red and her hubby was taken
by Heather Almendarez at the Authors After Dark signing.

I asked my blog followers what THEY would like me to ask my favorite author. So after I asked a few of my own, I picked a few of my favorites to include in the interview! Here we go...

 Kayla’s Questions:
Favorite Kayla the Bibliophile “Fangirling” moment:
I have to say when you videoed opening the “I googled it, Sir” t-shirt and the Hitachi. So cute! Even showed it to hubby. (I think you should link it here so everyone can enjoy the fun).

Anything for Red! Here's that link ;-)
Yay!
https://t.co/cj1Tm2YMJL

What are a couple of your writing “quirks”?

  * I like a red bull and vodka when I start feeling tired or uninspired.
* I write in a dark room, like a vampire…

What would you choose as your last meal?
* Start with brie and crackers – seriously
* Then a fresh salad with excellent blue cheese
* I have a thing for lasagna and garlic bread
* End with either New York cheese cake and/or hot brownies
Then I would puke afterwards, because I don’t wanna die.

Do you have any pets?
Yep, a cat and a dog. Both needed a home and were taken in by us.

Do you have a “Lea” in your life?
Yes. Incredible woman, but she tells funny jokes not lame ones.

What’s been the most exciting thing you’ve done as an author?
Meeting my fans! LOVE IT! I wondered how it would be, and then I met the incredible people who have joined me in this journey. They are AMAZING! Both hubby and I love them.

What is YOUR safe word?
Secret, can’t tell. (kisses)

Will you return to the beloved characters of the Brie Series and do spin offs?
I am planning to do a short piece based on four of the Doms/Domme when they first met at college. (Sir Davis, Master Anderson, Rytsar Durov and Ms. Clark) But don’t ask me when… :-)

Lisa would like to know:
How does she function in daily life with all the delicious characters in her head?
My functioning ability is questionable, Lisa. I spend a lot of time in that world and there are times it interferes with real life. I forget appointments, don’t call people, etc. Bad Phoenix, bad!

 Sassy Sara wants to know:
Your favorite scene to do in real life?

Kinbaku, baby!

Is there anything in your books that you have NOT personally tried but would like to?
Yes (sly smile and a giggle)

Are all of the Doms based on people you know, or are there are some that you just imagined?
Sassy, some are imagined and others are based on real people. However, each person has a core trait that I have experienced myself or seen in others.

Stephanie would like you to tell us a story about your tantra chair ;-)

Stephanie, I think Amazon may ban me (whah whah whah…), but here it goes:
His Gift by Red Phoenix
The tantra chair cradles me in comfort as he places the Hitachi where it will stimulate the most, and then he slowly inserts his fingers. I whimper, knowing I have no control over what happens next. I stiffen and cry out just before an orgasm rolls through me.
“Again, my love…”
* The tantra chair only holds good memories for me, so every time I see it I get that happy feeling.

Crystal wants to know:
Why are man hole covers round? (hehehe shes such a nerd, love her.)
Hello! Have I taught you nothing??? Google it, Crystal.

When Sir and Brie agreed to do my interview...I'm not gonna lie...I literally squealed like a school girl. I won't hold y'all up with introductions because this it too freakin' awesome...so here ya go!

Let’s start with a little foreplay…

What would you say is the most embarrassing thing you have done or had done to you?
Sir: [rubs chin thoughtfully] I prefer not to comment on that question, Ms. Bibliophile.

Brie: [looks at Sir] Well…being egged sucked, but somehow Sir made it an empowering experience despite the humiliation I felt.

Craziest Fan moment?
Sir: When an eighty year old woman offered herself to me on Facebook with an attached picture of her naked femininity. [shakes head]

Brie: [giggles as she pats his knee] You are well loved, Sir.

 Pick one!

Favorite book and/or author?
Sir and Brie: [in unison] Red Phoenix

Sir: [raises eyebrow] I believe she has a popular series out about cheese.

 Import or Muscle car?
Brie: Sir’s all about the Lotus Evora S. He doesn’t even consider it a car - it’s so special.

Sir: [stares at Brie with an amused smirk] Since you insist on answering for me, little sub, why don’t you tell the good people if it is an import or a muscle car.

Brie: [Blushes and says quietly] I’d have to google it, Sir.

 Favorite song and/or musician?
Sir: My father, Alonzo Davis. I know of no other musician who played with the passion and expression he did.

Brie: I agree with Sir about his father, so I’ll share my favorite song. Have you heard of Christina Perri’s A Thousand Years? It so expresses my feelings just before I was collared. [Sighs contentedly] I love that song.

 White, Dark or Milk Chocolate?
Sir: White

Brie: I like them all!

 Commando, Boxers or Briefs?
Sir: Commando for Brie. I prefer briefs for myself.

Brie: [gazes lovingly at Sir] He looks mighty fine in his birthday suit, but I’ll take Sir any way he wants.

 Wine or Mixed drink?
Sir: Mixed drink

Brie: Sir makes the best Martinis! So good…

 Coke or Pepsi?
Sir: Neither

 Brie: Pepsi

 Biker boy or Rocker dude?
Sir: Neither

Brie: I think Sir would look good on a Harley, don’t you?

 Do you believe in vampires?
Sir: Yes, my mother is one.

Brie: [hugs Sir]

If you could have a super power what power would you pick?
Lea: [runs up and ‘bombs’ the interview] My super power? I would totally make people do things with my mental powers.

**Kayla, stunned and wide-eyed, trying not to "Fangirl" because she LOVES Lea**:
What would you do with your super power if you had it?
Lea: I would force my friends to act against their nature. [Chuckles evilly]

Would you abuse your super power? How?
Lea: Absolutely! Example, I would make Mary dress up like a clown and entertain little kids at a birthday party. [Breaks into hysterical laughter as she skips off]

 [Everyone on set laughs]

Enough foreplay, let’s get it on!

Tell us about your 1st time!
Sir: [looks at Brie]

Brie: [Blushes] My first time was in a car at eighteen... nice boy.

Sir: On the beach, at the age of seventeen. Charming young woman.

 Screamer, moaner or silent?
Sir: I am a man. I tend to groan or keep silent.

Brie: I do it all, like seriously.

 Whips or chains?
Sir: Whips. I enjoy the skill involved.

Brie: I agree with Sir. Chains look and sound cool, but are highly overrated in my book.

Do you ever leave home without panties on?
Sir: I never wear panties.

Brie: [giggles] No, he does not. Me? Whenever Sir commands me to.

Have you ever had sex while at work (any job)? If so, where?
Sir: Yes, at times on a daily basis. One of the perks I had training submissives.

Brie: No. Believe me, the people I worked with at the tobacco shop were definitely not my type.

What is the strangest place you ever had sex?
Sir: [chuckles] Wouldn’t you like to know?

Brie: Sir is very creative.

What turns you on more, reading a sexual story, watching a porn or listening to sex?
Sir: Intriguing question... I would have to say listening to sex.

Brie: Reading for me. I can get so caught up in a story that I forget it’s not real. Then I have to hunt Sir down and beg him to let me service him afterwards.

Sir: [grins wickedly] There are times I enjoy using it as a lesson in denial.

 Does size matter?
Sir: No, a woman is pleasing no matter her size.

Brie: [gives a shy smile] To be completely honest, I like a healthy-sized cock. Bigger is not necessarily better, but too small is a challenge.

Do you or have you ever had a “cop” fantasy?
Sir: Yes. I like the idea of a nightstick and handcuffs.

Brie: I do think Sir would look good in a policeman’s uniform.

Do you or have you ever had a “Delivery Guy” or “Service Man” fantasy?
 Sir: No.

Brie: [smiles] Oh, I wouldn’t mind if Sir delivered a package to me.

Sir: [takes her hand and kisses it] I happen to have a package with your name on it, babygirl. I will deliver it to you after this interview.

 Dominant or Submissive?
Sir: Need I answer?

Brie: Submissive, although I do enjoy when Sir gives me control.

A fantasy you haven't fulfilled yet?
Sir: I have a lifetime of them.

Brie: [Bites bottom lip] Truthfully, Sir is my fantasy.

 Your stand on sex toys?
Sir: I prefer the art of simple touch, but do use toys from time to time.

Brie: I have only one word - Hitachi.

Siiiigh, that was fantastic…how about some pillow talk?

What would you do if you could be a guy for a day?
Sir: [rolls eyes]

Brie: [laughs at Sir’s response] I would go to the Submissive Training Center and play with all the different submissives. I want to try a variety of woman to see if they feel different from each other. [Turns to Sir] Do they feel different, Sir?

Sir: [winks] My secret.

 Brie: [pouts]

What's the last thought in your head that involved someone you like?
Sir: [looks at Brie] Fuck her, fuck her now.

 Brie: Aww… thank you, Sir.

What is a question you would want to ask me?
Sir: What motivated you to take a picture of yourself as Brie?

Kayla: I find you're woman wonderful and inspiring.
You can see some of those pics here:

Brie: [smiles at Kayla] Are you a Dominant or Submissive?

Kayla: Total subby. That's why I identified with you so much!

Any tats or piercings? If so, where?
Sir: None. [rubs the small of Brie’s back]

Brie: [grins at Sir as she lays her hand over his heart] Me either.

 Biggest turn on?
Sir: A willing submissive who understands her allure.

Brie: [kneels down at Sir’s feet and lays head on his thigh] Being challenged by someone who understands me.

 Biggest turn off?
Sir: [pets Brie’s hair] Unfaithful people

Brie: [purrs] Biggest turn off? That’s easy... humiliation.

Thank you for answering my naughty questions. Was it as good for you as it was for me?
Sir: [still petting Brie’s hair] Although amusing, it seems more geared towards women. I suggest you consider revising some of the questions.

Brie: [giggles as she looks up at Sir] Well, it was good for me!

Did you have anything else you’d like to say before we go?
Sir: You enthusiasm is endearing, Ms. Bibliophile.

Brie: Yes. Thank you, Kayla. This was fun.

Kayla the Bibliophile's Review for

Brie Learns the Art of Submission

Obsessed.
It's the only word I can think of that can describe the way I feel about this book.
I know I said I'd wait until I came out of my Brie Stupor to write this review, but I want to write it while it's still fresh in my head, and before I move into the sequels.
Every once in a while you will find a book that will completely absorb you. You get so into it that your reality kind of skews. You can't remember if it was a conversation YOU had with someone, or a dream you had, or if it was just a scene from the book. You have to go out and eat the foods the characters are described to be dining on. You crave to try the things that are written in such detail because it just sounds so...damn...wonderful...
Then the book ends, and you are thrown back into the real world. But this book...this book sticks with you. It has somehow changed you, gotten into your blood, making you want to be...different. More like one of the characters. You recognize something in the character, you feel a connection, as if it were an alternate universe that YOU would be living if given the choice.
That is how this book made me feel. And I wouldn't be surprised if every woman who reads it feels the same way because of the way this amazing author has written it.
Brie Learns the Art of Submission: Submissive Training Center is a compilation of 9 novellas. Our main character, Brie, is living a pretty boring life, working at a generic retail job and no excitement in sight. We know nothing of her family, there is no sob story that she struggles with thats holding her back from being happy, there is no drama.
"Miss Bennett is twenty-two, with a bachelor's degree in fimmaking outside these walls..."
This pretty much sums up all we know about our heroine in the beginning. There's so little of a backstory that it allows us to fill in the rest with whatever we want. But there's ENOUGH of a backstory that you feel like you KNOW her and root for her, and want her to succeed. I always say a big part of what makes me love a story is if I'd want to be the main character's friend. I love Brie so much that not only would I be her bff, I'd love to BE her. She's such a strong and determined person, yet vulnerable at the same time. She wants nothing more than to please the one she is with.
When I first started this book, I was hooked after the first page. I immediately started "pimping" it without even finishing it first which I usually don't do. I made a BIG mistake though. In the beginning I told my friends it was NOT a love story. I said it was not a romance. But I was wrong. With this book, above all other's that I've read, it is very important not to have spoilers. Even the slightest hint at the later chapters would completely ruin the journey you are taken on, so let me just say that this is very much a love story.
But more about the plot... Brie is at her retail job restocking the shelves on a normal day, and is slipped a business card by a gorgeous customer. She discovers that it is a Training Center for Submissives. After researching, a little self evaluating, and finally the creative registration process, she enrolls. She is then trained by Dominants who are world renouned, the best of the best.
I think I love this book as much as I do because we get to go right along with Brie. We get to sit through the classes with Mr. Gallant. The students ask all the questions that we would ask if we were sitting in the desk next to them. We get to hear his answers that are so detailed that we understand exactly what he is trying to teach us that day. Then they move to Practicum and we feel the trainers eyes on us, we feel the embarassment when we get reprimanded, and the pride when they compliment. Then when they move into the auditorium for the final period of the day, we get the butterflies in our bellies from nervousness, the fear when they make us face something unknown, and the excitement when our fantasies are about to be fulfilled.
Never have I felt like a book had been written just for me. I've always loved reading, and I've tried writing before but I just can't put a story that's in my head down onto paper. I can't articulate an entire alternate universe and make it sound...right. But this story...it feels like Red Phoenix somehow got into my head and put down onto paper a world she knew I'd absolutely love.
This book won't be for everyone. If you don't like BDSM, or multiple partners, or anything beside "vanilla" love scenes, then I wouldn't recommend this book. But if you are feeling adventurous, naughty, or even just a little curious then I'd say READ THIS BOOK. Read this book because you will love it.
To the author Red Phoenix: you have earned yourself a die hard fan for life. I will read anything you ever put out...hehe...put out.

Sassy Sara's Review for Brie Embraces to Heart of Submission: After Graduation

What a difference a book makes!  I started reading Red Phoenix after Amazon suggested that based on my previous purchase of FSoG I might enjoy her books.  To say that I enjoyed them would the understatement of the century.  I didn't know anyone else who had heard of her, liked her work or at the very least READ her work.  After my first Brie, things changed for me.  I was pimping before I knew what that meant. I started by messaging my friends and chatting her books up at work then progressed to writing reviews on Amazon and loaning friends my books to get them started on the series.  I found out about Club Red which lead me to Racy Roadies and then to Kayla.  Within the span of about 6 months I created a whole new group of friends who in some ways I know better than my own family!

What draws me to any author is their ability to bring you into the world they have created, making you feel more like a voyeur than a reader.  Red made me feel like I could have actually been one of the workers at the center behind the scenes; watching these stories unfold.  What I loved most about these books was that while there was a good deal of sex in the storyline, there was also love, romance and friendship.

Brie Embraces The Heart of Submission is the continuing story of Brie and Sir after the dramatic conclusion of Brie Learns the Art of Submission.  I enjoyed the fact that most of the characters you meet (with a few surprise guests...) are from the original story.  You end up feeling like you picked up right where the last book left off.  There are growing pains, repercussions from the ceremony, family dynamics, friendship, jealousy, career choices and of course, last but not least: lots of SEX! in this continuing story.  You get to see what a day in the life for Sir would have been before Miss Bennet steps in and changes everything for him.  They travel quite a bit in this series, to Russia, Italy and Brie's childhood home.

How will Brie's parents feel about her new lifestyle choice?  Will her documentary ever be seen by an audience?  Will Sir finally start to let his wall down around her or will he always keep just a bit of himself held back? How do the other Doms that were not chosen react?  Trust will be questioned, friendships ended, families are forever changed and you will be on the edge of your seat from the beginning to the end of this amazing book.  I mentioned in my Amazon review that despite the fact that I purchased each book separately, I also bought the book as a collection so I can go back and revisit all the adventures of Brie and Sir.  Oh, the things we could gossip about that happens in this book!

All in good time my lovelies...
Now, start reading so we can all talk about our favorite Dom and what we want them to do to us first!!  I'm still on the fence between Master Anderson and Rytsar....  Radost Moya :)
